Ugh.
The next few weeks are going to be filled with… legitimate sadness and poignancy. I really don’t know how I’m going to handle the last band trip and band concerts. Basically all of my high school career was all about the band. Shit, there was Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Rock Band, Marching Band… With Mr. Elliott leaving it’s just going to be twice as depressing.

My favorite place in the whole wide world is the Adirondack mountain chain of the Appalachian mountains, in northern New York.
It’s so beautiful, isn’t it? This is the view from our little beach on Raquette Lake. My family has kept a cabin in these woods ever since my mom was a little kid. For as long as I can remember my parents and I have gone up here for a week every summer....
